‘Un Festival c’est trop Court!’ Film Festival

9th – 16th October 2015

Nice’s European short film festival will return for its 15th year, boasting a comprehensive and diverse programme of approximately 170 films to suit all tastes. The eight day event is set to attract crowds of 7,000 with its jam-packed schedule of screenings, workshops and parties, including a masterclass from actor and director Serge Avédikian. One of the festival’s main objectives is promoting European directors and the spotlight will be on Croatia this year with a choice of 19 films and animations to catch. With a variety of awards up for grabs, some judged by expert juries, the quality will be high and the selection sought-after, making it unmissable for film fans visiting the South of France.

Animated Film Festival

Throughout October, a hundred cities in over 30 countries will be hosting a variety of public screenings, premieres, workshops and exhibitions to celebrate animated film. Over 400 events will be taking place during the 14th animated film festival; two of which will be in close proximity to Cannes. The Espace Magnan in Nice will be hosting a special Halloween event between the 26th and 28th that will include the chance to catch three films including Monster House and take part in origami workshops and treasure hunts. Meanwhile, the scenic village of Cabris, located a 45 minute drive from Cannes, will be offering a programme of six animated films including a preview of Adama and Phantom Boy on national release. Both events will be ideal for a family-friendly day out in the Côte d’Azur.

France is set to celebrate all things delicious during the 26th edition of 'Taste Week' this month. Thousands of events and initiatives will be hosted by industry professionals such as chefs, farmers and producers, each eager to impart knowledge and share their experience of food in restaurants, schools, universities and other public spaces throughout the country. There will be several events taking place close to Cannes, including the chance to discover the craft involved in baking in Nice on the 12th, alongside the opportunity to attend a one hour cooking lesson offered by La Contois Thyme’s chef Beil Denis in Contes on the 13th.
